This book is a collection of essays Deren wrote on her approach to film. This is a great book to pick up and read from time to time. Her approach to film is so simple and straight forward, yet dilligent and serious. She works very much with an 'amateur' approach and at the same time is very much interested in technique and doing whatever it takes to get the desired outcome.
