The After Life is the story of Nad Raven - a young man, whose childhood is shattered by a cataclysmic event that leaves him trapped in an underground vault with a few other survivors of a modern day apocalypse. It is a tale of a small community that tries to move on after all hope seems to have been wiped out by an all out nuclear war. With our planet turned into a grim wasteland, the protagonist discovers that even in an isolated micro society there is love and hate, grief and happiness, valor and treason as well as that overpowering human temptation to find out what is out there - beyond the safe walls of the underground shelter. Criticism Of Books The After/Life
The true rating is more like 3.5 stars. I thought that this book was extremely well-written but there was a few problems. The story seemed a bit rushed with the explaination of life in the bunker/ the School and Suzannah and the principals way too long and the real action a bit too short. About 65% of the story was said in the past tense and only a small bit including the exciting part with him planning to escape. I really did like how the tense of the story changed from the past to the present

Let me say that this is not normally a genre that I read. However, Mr.Partamyan draws you in with his clever story telling. I wish the book had been longer, but that just adds credit to his ability to capture his readers attention. I have rated this book with 5 stars because of that ability.Yes, I want a longer story, but who doesn't when they're enjoying a book their reading. It always ends too soon! Yes there are some typos and grammatical errors, easily corrected. This does not negate the

Ok, this was a bit of a departure from the type of books I normally read. Set in a world after a nuclear war, it is the story of how one particular school survived. I wasn't sure whether I would enjoy it, but I did. It's a fairly short read, but that isn't a problem as the price, at the time of my purchase, is only 77p. Also the profits go towards an orphanage, which I think is a very nice thing for the author to do. I did enjoy this although, predictably, it becomes quite violent towards the

Marry me, Vardan! I have seen some comments about how it is very bad that the book is too quick. But seriously, do you want the author to describe the routinic and boring life in the School? I think that was the point really. I would not venture and say the book was perfect, but it was very good. (I can't wait to read book two!) It left you seriously on edge throughout the whole book that you really can't stop from reading it (I read it all at once). Maybe the short chapters helped with that,

Well, I did put a healthy chunk of my heart and soul into this book so it is naturally very special to me...what I really want to know though is what You think about it!

This book was really good and yet really short. This book is about a (at first) young kid named Nad. He was at his school when bells started going off. He was taken to a safe place (underground vault) under the school. He remembers the song (one of his fathers favorites) and its cool since its played throughout the book. Now 22 years later, the school is thriving. There is a principal (like a president) then teachers and students. At first he's fine with the School, but the more he talks to

I enjoyed the mystery element in this dystopian. I had suspected the ending but it was a fun read getting there.I recommend this book to readers of the young adult, dystopian, and apocalyptic genre.
