Chronicle During Books Immortal Flame (Hell to Pay #1)

World War II veteran Peter Blackstone traded his soul so that his wife could live. That was 1945. Since then, Peter has lived an unnaturally long life as a hired killer, providing the life forces upon which Jerahmeel feeds to survive.

Doctor Allison La Croix has a big problem. She randomly sees people’s deaths. She has longed to be free of her twisted “gift” to live a normal life without fear of predicting yet another loved one’s demise.

After a horrific accident, a severely injured Peter arrives in Allison’s ER. The vision Allison experiences when she touches him nearly kills her. He teaches her to block these devastating episodes as she finds a way to unlock his forgotten, passionate soul.

But Jerahmeel’s minion has orders to destroy Peter and anyone he loves. Will Peter’s and Allison’s shattered souls survive the devious plan? Or could their love save them both? Someone will have hell to pay.

Appraise Regarding Books Immortal Flame (Hell to Pay #1)
Well written paranormal romance with a unique storyline.I wasn't sure what to expect from a book with a cover of a guy with a wifebeater on, slouching with his hands in his pockets. I was initially attracted to this book from the blurb, about a WWII vet who sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his wife's life, many decades ago. I'm so glad I picked this up, because the contents are amazing - crisp writing, a solid blend of just the right amount of action and romance, and engaging

Immortal Flame is book one in the Hell to Pay series by Jillian David. This is the first book by Jillian and wow, just wow. What an entry she has made. Dr. Allison La Croix is an Emergency Dr. in La Grande, Oregon. Its interesting that Allie chose being a Dr. as a profession because at all costs, Allie must keep herself from touching any other persons skin. Whenever Allie comes in contact with another persons skin, if death is in that persons near future, she will see it, experience it through a

Fantastic Plot! This was a wonderful romance. "Two star-crossed lovers" is such a cliché but it describes this book so well!Peter is near death as he is wheeled into the ER-- except he's already dead, having sold his Soul. The doctor that evening is named Alison. She has this amazing gift of 'seeing' people's death with just a touch, which sort of explains her use of gloves. (Her 'visions' always come true.) As Alison touches Peter, she 'sees' all of these deaths from by-gone times and somehow

I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal romance about Peter, an ex-WWII soldier who sold his soul to the devil to save his dying wife, and Allison, an ER surgeon battling to make a normal life despite the visions of death she receives from touching other people. Well-written paranormal romanceIt's a genuinely excellent, engaging world that the author has created here with a completely believable mythos (although I did find myself wondering who makes the 'Rules' that Peter's demon master has to

I feel like were always hearing about beach reads and summer reads this time of year, so if anyone is looking for something different than those light and easy reads, you HAVE to check out these books by Jillian David. One is a little darker than the other, but they were both pretty entertaining. Keep reading to see what I meanRead the full review on Kindles & Wine HERERating: C (3 stars)Note: Review copy courtesy of the author.

Selling your soul to the devil never quite turns out as one hopes. For Peter Blackstone this is all too true. When he was at his most desperate, he signed away his life without thinking of the consequences. When it was time to pay up, he was filled with regret. Now, decades later, he is looking for his out. He knows there is a way but he doesn't know the details and he makes a bad mistake. He falls for a woman who can be a threat to his demon handler. The world building in this book is a bit

I would like to thank Reading Alley and Crimson Romance for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.5.5 stars!!! I have a bit of a confession to make: I actually had this pretty little ARC on my shelf since 2016 and I still had not read ituntil now! After I finished reading Immortal Flame by Jillian David, I was seriously whacking myself in the head for not reading this ARC much sooner! Immortal Flame was a truly fantastic paranormal romance read that made me want to
