The Prophecy (Divinity Stone #1)
What they didn't know was that it was real.
All of it was real.
When Starlette McKinley moved from the sparkling lights of LA to the sleepy town of Shiloh, she didn't know that she would be the catalyst. She didn't know that the rage and energy pulsing through her would be the key to unleashing an unsurmountable power that would either be the saving of mankind, or its destruction.
The blood will run, and the prophecy will be revealed. But will she be able to overcome the insurmountable odds? Or will she succumb to the energy within, welcoming the darkness that has become her only friend.

4.5 stars. The opening chapter of this book drew me in immediately. You know something big is going to happen, and then we meet Star. She is struggling with an internal darkness she can't control and has been forced to move across the country. There was a lot of relationship building and character development in the first three quarters of the book. This was good and I enjoyed reading about the secondary characters (especially Rose). Desiree did a nice job of weaving in the suspense which had me
In an attempt at full disclosure, I must confess that one part of me truly enjoyed "The Prophecy" while another part had major problems with it. This, the reason for my three star review. However, I will lay out my feelings about this read as honestly as I can. There is an ancient prophecy about a girl who will be burdened with the task and power to both release and destroy an evil warlock. Starlette or Star is that girl; yet, she doesn't know it. Seventeen year old Star is leaving Los Angeles
I was excited to read this story because I am always game for a good YA book series and I am happy to say it did not disappoint. I really liked Star. She is an edgy, sarcastic, dramatic teenager who is trying to figure out what is wrong with her. What she does know is that there is something dark inside of her that is causing things to happen and people to get hurt. Star and her family literally move across the country from L.A. to Shiloh, V.A., just to give get a second chance at a normal life.
The beginning of this book really pulled me in. I found myself immediately traveling into Sarah's fantastical world of witches and wizards, and then into Starlette's modern world where the power of her ancestors is nothing more than a legend. All the characters were unique and I enjoyed that the main character didn't fall instantly in love with every hot guy she saw. The two friends were enjoyable. I definitely want to know more about them and I hope to see them in book two. This story ended
****5 DARK STARS**** What would you do if your parents uprooted you to a dinky ass town across the country from your home because of a bit of trouble? That's right you would trip into a pizza in front of a hot guy and then get into a fist fight with some random girl at your new job. Sounds like a good time eh?Star is much like our young Mr Potter. She can't seem to catch a break. Things are happening to her she can't stop or explain. Her family is afraid of her and the only friend she has

Love this book!!!!! I am really looking forward to book 2. Star is a confused and troubled girl but she is also strong and funny. It seemed like I was constantly laughing at something Star did or said. There is a good bit of mystery that is slowly unraveling and some bits of romance. It has a good build on the characters through out the book, you learn a little more on ever page. This book has language more suited for +16 readers. I am sure my 17y daughter would love to read it too. Rated a 44.5 stars. The opening chapter of this book drew me in immediately. You know something big is going to happen, and then we meet Star.
