Relation Concering Books Call of the Raven (The Union)

Love is something everyone longs for at the deepest level—but for some, love is a curse. This is most certainly true for Asher Lake, the Keeper of an unknown group of people called ani-shifts. Ani-shifts, those with the ability to shift into animal forms, compose a secretive body of individuals known simply as the Union.
A wolf in shifter form, Asher lives with a curse placed upon him and his predecessors by the elusive Raven—a dark entity whose identity remains a mystery. According to the ancient archives, the Raven’s curse is conditional and set in motion by one fatal decision: if a Keeper ever allows himself to fall in love he will die.
Choosing to live in isolation within the walls of Lake Manor, a private estate concealed by the dense woods of Brokenridge, Asher has vowed never to love or to fall in love with anyone believing it to be the only way to survive. However, after ten years of neglecting his people and the protégés left in his care, along with the impending threats of an uprising, Asher learns the only way to break the Raven’s curse on future Keepers, thereby preventing them from suffering the same fate, is to accept his.
This becomes his strongest challenge of all when he encounters Elle Ison, the woman of his dreams. Does Elle hold the key? Can she help him change his fate?

Comment On Of Books Call of the Raven (The Union)
First, Ill comment on the plot. I am so impressed at how Shawn weaved this amazing plot together. There are constant twists and turns that you just dont know are coming, and it all blends so nicely together. There was only once that I got confused, but then I believe I was meant to be, and the whole thing was explained clearly later. There were several I didnt see that coming! moments, and a few times I found myself holding my breath. One moment I would be laughing out loud, and the next tensed

This is not your usual werewolf story. This book it dark, gritty and you feel a part of it. It moves slow to start, then shifts noticably, almost 2 books in one. Then, just when things start to come together and life makes a turn in the story, the book ends and you are left with... NNNNnnnnnoooooooo!!!!!! Trust me when I say i will be reading the rest of the series.Sadly, this is the part when all my love for the book ends. The story is wonderful, characters are fleshed out, scenes are described

It took me a while to get used to the writing style and become conscious of the world, the characters and the happenings. That wasn't a problem though, as soon as I got into the dark climate of the novel. I grew to love the mysticism, the peculiarities and the way the heroes moved around, emitting powerfulness and knowledge. Elle's story saddened me and made me angry at her at the same time for not breaking her misery sooner. I found excuses to justify her passiveness for tolerating abuse for

I've never read a book about shape-shifters before and wasn't too sure but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone! Can't wait for book two to come out, and glad I only have to wait a month! This story is about the Lake family lead by Asher Lake who is a wolf. He is the leader or "keeper" of shape-shifters called the Union. He is not well liked by some and hated by others. He was thrust into this position by the "keeper" before him early in his life due to a curse over

Call of the RavenBy Shawn ReillyThe plot is intense, the characters seep emotion all happening in a mystical shifter world. Author Shawn Reilly has created a world filled with mystery and struggle; you never know what will happen next, who really cares for whom or why secrets were kept for so long. The main focus of this story is of Asher, the powerful keeper that is destined to die when he loves. He has spent his life keeping people a way for fear of his fate, once he lets them in. I found his

This first book of the Union Series was a very pleasant surprise to me because this is not a genre I usually read, but I cannot wait for Volume Two. I enjoyed the way Ms. Reilly writes and I am impressed this is her debut novel. Bravo Shawn!Elle Ison is a (rather pathetic) lost soul. Brought up by her Grandmother, she never learned her self worth. She became entwined in an abusive, co-dependent relationship, she needed a home and security and he needed a maid and punching bag. That all changed
