Weigh Up Epithetical Books Parker Pyne Investigates (Parker Pyne)
Mr. Parker Pyne is my favorite character of the Christie lot. I love the idea of a place people can go when unhappy, to come out happy again. Not through booze or drugs, but do to actions made to right the sinking ship. The first half of the short stories in this anthology are the best. The second half involve Pyne trying to take a vacation and constantly getting to another case, which becomes trying. Especially in the complexity in so few pages. The writing is great, especially the first half.

I wasnt expecting great things going into this one, mainly because Parker Pine isnt as well-known as Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. This is also a short story collection, although that worked in its favour for me because I actually think that Agatha Christie is at her best when shes writing short fiction.I also loved the premise of this one, which was that Parker Pine placed an advert in the paper saying, ARE YOU HAPPY? IF NOT, CONSULT MR. PARKER PINE. The stories then follow the different

I was very disappointed by this. It certainly isn't Agatha Christie's typical whodunit mystery. Instead, it is about a man who makes life interesting for people by throwing around some money. I did not finish it because it was boring and poorly written. The short stories all (by all I mean those I read) followed the same plot. Certainly not one of Christie's best. If you're looking for one of her better novels, go read And Then There Were None or Murder on the Orient Express

or does not, as in much of this book. Agatha Christies Parker Pyne Investigates is a collection of fourteen short stories featuring, as detective (a term applied somewhat loosely in several of these stories) C Parker Pyne. A retired government employee who has spent his life working with statistics, Parker Pyne has come to the conclusion that all human happiness (and unhappiness) can be categorized, sifted, dealt with in a logical way. He therefore advertises in the newspaper: Are you happy? If

4.5/5 ⭐s. I loved this collection of short stories!

I have to confess, I have never read a great deal of Agatha Christie's stand alone book's. I adore her Poriot and Marple, and a few of her well known stand alone' s. This is the first time I have read this book, and absolutely loved it. Mr. Parker Pyne is wonderful unique character who wants people to be happy. He advertisers in the paper asking for people who are not happy to come to him for help.I enjoyed every short story in this collection. I find myself wishing she has written more Parker
