The Uninvited (The Julianna Rae Chronicles)
Meet Julianna Rae...capable, strong, intelligent, highly trained in combat...and utterly, utterly, terrified.
When Julianna Rae escapes from camp 4.5.2 with Caden Madison, she finally feels free of her violent family history. But Madison's status as master watcher prevents her identity escaping their chance meeting.
Unaware of her predestined path as the Seer, and confident that joining the Rebellion is her choice alone, she is hidden under the watchful eye of Isis, untl her secret bond with a Militia Commader has her arrested.
Secrets are discovered, the sectors lose communication, and the outlying camps under Madison's command will be ambushed, unless Julianna can find his location in time.
Julianna's journey will change everything. Aided by the men of her past, she discovers that the answers she seeks, are often the truths that destroy. She discovers that once in the grasp of a watcher, there is no means of escape.
Join Julianna Rae in her first Chronicle, as she makes her final journey through the war torn sectors, searching for freedom from her dark past.
This was a fascinating read...more so because I have never read a book from this genre (dystopia urban fantasy). It was well written and had me spellbound from page 1, so I had to buy book 2 immediately. It ended on a cliff-hanger note , so I need to know the final outcome.
Of course I'll give it five stars. I wrote the darn thing, it's my book :) more 5 star reviews on Amazon.
Interesting readWhile I found this book interesting and somewhat enjoyable, for me there was just something missing. I did like the story and the characters and am still trying to work out if Caden is some sort of Vampire. .......
I'm not sure what genre I would consider this book. I bought it thinking it was science fiction but I'm not sure I would categorize it as such. I had a hard time figuring out exactly what was up with each of the characters. Even after finishing the book, I'm not entirely sure what a Watcher, a Walker, or a Seer is exactly. Or what an initiation involves. Or why they are sucking blood. They don't seem like vampires but maybe I've missed something. Perhaps all of these will be explained more in
The Uninvited (The Julianna Rae Chronicles 1) by Aral Beruex was a very interesting read. It was more than interesting; it was intriguing I would say. There are aspects that I truly loved and other aspects that I wanted more of. I loved the world that Arals vivid writing brought to life for me. I could picture the seediness of the sectors, the hover drones, the militias and the race for survival. I admit that I wanted more of a connection between C Mads and Julianna. I could see the attraction
