When I started reading this Hakima's Tale, I was intrigued from the start. I loved learning about the Jinni & their special love they each had for Phoenix & her family. But nothing came close to the unconditional love that her parents showed her no matter how much the Marid tried to break them. Phoenix's love for her family, friends & the world made me root for her over & over again. Each of her adventures was a wonderful journey in my mind & I especially enjoyed how sheThe Revenge of the Blue Jinni is the rare kind of book that had me intrigued from beginning to end. The story is very well written with just the right amount of fantasy, adventure, and suspense that had me captivated with every page turn. All of the characters, my favorite being Phoenix of course, are unique and very well developed as you go through the story. This was actually my first time reading anything from Debra Stevenson and I must say I am very impressed. This is a great first start to

I remember when Dedra visited the school I was in and spoke to the students and staff about writing and about creativity. She was selling her books and I was excited to buy The Hakima's Tale: Revenge of the Blue Jinni.
