I have the terrible habit of walking into bookstores, finding a collection of books, and purchasing them because its a good deal all without knowing much about the books included in the collection. A fast-paced and engaging spy thriller, a lot like the Alex Rider series but with fewer gadgets. Zak Darke comes across as a realistic, well-rounded character, and the reader is really pulled into this thoughts and reactions to the chaos that is his life.A fun book, recommended for everyone!

If you like Alex Rider, you'll probably enjoy this series as it's quite similar. There is mild language throughout. The story is quite detailed, even up to describing how cocaine is made. I did appreciate the overly detailed gun safety lesson. As a girl who's grown up around guns, it was nice to see an accurate portrayal of how to handle guns.
