Interpretation In Favor Of Books Cold Wind (Joe Pickett #11)
The extraordinary new Joe Pickett novel from the Edgar Award-winning author. When Earl Alden is found dead, dangling from a wind turbine, it's his wife, Missy, who is arrested. Unfortunately for Joe Pickett, Missy is his mother-in- law, a woman he dislikes heartily, and now he doesn't know what to do-especially when the early signs point to her being guilty as sin.But then things happen to make Joe wonder: Is Earl's death what it appears to be? Is Missy being set up? He has the county DA and sheriff on one side, his wife on the other, his estranged friend Nate on a lethal mission of his own, and some powerful interests breathing down his neck. Whichever way this goes . . . it's not going to be good.

Wow....if there wasn't any doubt...I will continue with this series and look forward to starting at the first book and catching up. Character development, continuing personalities in the stories and a good mystery. Box is just darn good!Another great one from C J Box.
Another outstanding contribution to a strong series. Think the life of a Wyoming game warden is dull? Wait until you meet Joe Pickett. Glad I discovered C.J. Box, and found most of his books in hardcover at Chamblin's Book Mine in Jacksonville, FL.
forged through ten of these, took a break, and am not sure there are ten more in my future. I always learn stuff in these books and they are imagaic portraits os a hardened west, a different breed. Joe Pickett is a game warden, and in the same way I figured you couldn't write great books about sports agents like Myron Bolitar I figured these would be dumb reads. They are not. They are rich with moral dilemmas and good characters. This goes in a lot of directions and bogs down some, but it is
*My edition (same isbn) is being released Jan 1st 2012 in Australia*Cold Wind is an enjoyable mystery/thriller set in the wilds of Wyoming, Joe Pickett is a game warden who reluctantly finds himself investigating the death of his father in law, Earl Alden. The local police immediately arrest his mother in law, Missy and while Joe i snot averse to seeing the woman locked up, it seems unlikely she shot her husband, carelessly leaving the gun covered in prints in her car, and then hauled her
I like this series very much. Box portrays Wyoming with an appreciation and understanding of its beauty, isolation and the independence of its inhabitants. Joe Pickett is a hero in the tradition of the great Hollywood cowboys, generally driving a pickup instead of riding a horse. However, he does ride when necessary and loves his horses. In this series entry, Joe has to investigate the murder of his father-in-law, Earl Alden. Alden was a multi-millionaire landowner and media mogul who was having
