What's the word for it when a manga character is too stupid, weak, lazy, abrasive, and willfully ignorant to survive or progress in the story through anything less than the will of god (ie, the writer)? I spent some time googling, but didn't come up with anything. Most character types are defined for the women in manga, not the males. Or at least that's where the attention goes. Perhaps it is so common for the men to be pathetic that it just doesn't get a name?

That's where we are with this series, which was actually going pretty well. But now we have a mopey MC. A MC who wants to fight for "justice", which at the moment means letting a murderer continue to murder people... because he's an idiot. So his friend comes to help him... so he insults her, tells her he hates her (for zero reason that makes any sense), and he goes off to... no idea. This was an absolute garbage of a volume.


Hint, he doesn't get over anything.

I'll give you the overall synopsis. Spoilers, I guess. But it's crap, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

MC does something that injures his allies and almost gets them all killed. Due to this, lots of people die later. Everyone is rightly pissed at MC. MC decides they are evil (or something). Doesn't give the first damn about the deaths due to his actions, and wants to help the murderer because he talked to her twice in the past and she seemed pretty ok. Then he alienates his only friend because he's a complete idiot. At least, that's the only reason I can see at the moment. (hide spoiler)]

The first portion of this was fine, I suppose. Our MC's plot armor and lack of situational awareness are just so strong that any other considerations just seem unimportant.

Getting used to the new path.... for those of you wondering, this is where the story deviates from the anime.

started reading in library so just finished it now.....dam ganta needs learn who has his back! he keep pushing the only friend he has away.

In Deadman Wonderland, Vol.6 our hero, Ganta, a teenage boy framed for the murder of his classmates has been sent to a combination gladiator theme park/prison called Deadman Wonderland where he learns that he has lethal powers. There are others like him called Deadman and they are being controlled by an evil mastermind at the Deadman Wonderland. The struggle continues in this episode which focuses the story. It is an interesting story.

deadman wonderland is one of the most interesting manga that I have had the pleasure of reading so far.this story is about Ganta igurashi a 14 year old boy who has had a run in with a being he called the red man. Who attacks him and his classmates which leaves Ganta as the sole survivor in the end, who tells them that he knows who the killer is but ends up falsely accused himself of doing the deed.
